Medidata offers Datacenter virtualization solution

Energy consumption and space reduction and an increase in availability are the main improvements delivered by datacenter virtualization

Medidata, a systems integrator active in the IT market for more than 30 years, offers the complete Datacenter solution, providing customers with greater availability of services and cost reduction in energy consumption and space allocation, with focus on the corporate market, aiming at centralizing customers and maximizing access.

The partnership with Sun Microsystems and Cisco Systems enables Medidata to deliver integrated Datacenter solutions, including storage, servers and network virtualization.

“A server dedicated to an application uses 30% of its capacity on average. The virtualization allows the use of this idle capacity by associating “virtual machines” to the same hardware. On the other hand, management resources allow that different efficient techniques to be implemented in the contingency of “virtual machines”. Therefore, customers are able to reduce hardware costs (energy) and improve the quality of services”, says Jaques Scvirer, Medidata’s President.

The Datacenter has proved to be essential for organizations where the aggregation of processing and connectivity resources have broadened business opportunities. Therefore, Medidata meets its customers’ needs, delivering consistent solutions, reducing operational costs in 20% on average for end users.

Medidata has invested heavily in this trend for the past few years, with the acquisition of testing equipment, laboratories, and demonstration facilities. It also provided professional training in pre-sales, support and services. Investment figures reached R$ 2.4 million per year.

This year, Medidata received from Sun Microsystems the Top Partner of the Year 2008, awarded to the main partner in Latin American in sales, training and services; the Top Revenue Maker Brazil FY 2008, awarded to Brazil’s partner with the largest revenue; and the Best System Partner Latin America 2008, awarded to the best partner in systems practice.

Medidata is certified by Cisco as Gold Partner and has won several prizes, such as the Best Partner System Integrator and the Best Partner Customer Advocacy Award, in March 2006; Best Performance SP Integrator – LATAM, in April 2005.

Medidata will take part at Futurecom 2008 in partnership with Sun. The Telecommunications and Information Technology event will be held at the Transamérica Expo Center, in São Paulo between October 27 and 30.
