| Subsidiary company of the Amper Group wants to earn up to 7
Million Euros in 2005, with special focus on the Government and Financial Sectors Source: ResellerWeb - Tatiana Americano - 12/02/2004 The launch of Amper Medidata - the subsidiary of Spanish Amper Group dedicated to systems integration - in Madrid, Spain, gets underway a project of bringing to the European market the knowledge of the Brazilian integrator. The facility opened officially this moth, and its president Mr. Jaques Scvirer, also holds the presidency of Medidata in Brazil. "What we have here is the result of a long maturation process that began in 2003 with a study to determine what values we could add to Spanish companies, explained Mr. Scvirer, pointing that the project consumed investments of 1 million euros and foresees a 16-staff team in January 2005. "All client contacts will be made from Spain, while Medidata will be in charge of providing technology and developing more complex projects, the president explained. "We want to work for Amper Group companies as well as other corporations, mainly in the governmental and financial areas. By doing this, we expect to achieve revenues over 7 million euros in the first year of operation", he added. Mr. Scvirer also explained that Amper Medidatas key focus involves IP technology, mobility, data storage, and network security. For that purpose, the company intends to avail itself of the existing partnerships with manufacturers in Brazil, namely Cisco, Nortel, CheckPoint, Sun, HP, among others, including specific alliances being presently negotiated in Europe. The executive reminded that the relationship with Amper began in March 2000, when the Spanish group acquired 75% of Medidata. "At that time, they were looking for ways to reinforce their presence in Brazil, although had already in mind taking the quality of the new services abroad, as they were powerful in telecommunications, but had hardly any knowledge in connectivity, infrastructure integration and data transport", said Scvirer. Nevertheless, he remarked that the project implementation four years later was the result of the Group restructuring. "Owing to problems with the telecom market, Amper took a repositioning in order to serve other segments, and it was only after carrying out changes and getting a foothold in other areas that it decided to go back to integration making", the president emphasized. He also detailed that Amper Medidata has invested capital from the Spanish group, controlling 86% of the companys stock, and Medidatas partners, with 7% owned by Scvirer, and other 7% owned by the companys VP, Victor Moreno.
